Outreach Seminar on Foreign Contribution Regulation Act Organised at Bhubaneswar

A One-Day Outreach Seminar on Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010 was organized by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) yesterday at Bhubaneswar, Orissa to sensitize stakeholders on various provisions of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Rules, 2011 and subsequent amendments/ notifications issued thereunder. 

More than 460 representatives from 258 associations registered under FCRA in Orissa, State Govt. officers, ICICI Bank and others participated in the seminar. The participants were addressed by Shri V. Vumlunmang, Joint Secretary (Foreigners), Ministry of Home Affairs, which was followed by other presentations on FCRA. ICICI Bank also made a presentation on the modalities of inward remittance through banking channel. It was an interactive session with participants exchanging views and clarifications on the subject. 

To facilitate streamlined handling of FCRA matters, the participants were informed by MHA officers that there would be greater use of online portal. The online portal will provide for messaging system, filing of statements by banks, filing of annual returns by associations and NGOs.
