Foundation Stone of Legislative Assembly at Bharadisain

Gairsen:(Page3 News Network)-Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal laid Foundation Stone of Legislative Assembly at Bharadisain (Gairsen) on Monday.  They also laid Foundation Stones of MLA Transit Hostel, Officers Transit Hostel and Staff Transit Hostel. Besides, Foundation Stones of Veterinary Science College, Gauchar under GB Pant Agriculture & Technology University Pantnagar, Horticulture and Aromatic Plants compound Bharadisain and Hill Agricultu re Compound, Jakholi of Uttarakhand Horticulture & Forestry University Bharsar, Pauri were also laid by them.
Chairing the Ceremony, Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal said that after a long struggle Uttarakhand State was formed and collectively it ought to be taken towards the path of development. He observed that only when the hill areas were developed that comprehensive development of the State would take place. With the laying of Foundation Stone of Legislative Assembly, one of many dreams of statehood agitationists had been realized. He said that setting up of Assembly in Gairsen would bring new dawn of development in the State.
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna saluting the statehood agitationists said that it was a day of joy and pride. He said keeping in mind the sentiments of statehood agitationists and development of hill region, and with the collective consensus, the decision to establish Legislative Assembly at Gairsen was taken. National Building Construction Company would complete the construction in two years. Mr. Bahuguna said that the issue of capital should not be dragged to controversy. By laying the Foundation Stone of Legislative Assembly at Gairsen the State Government has taken a step towards development of hill areas.
Mr. Bahuguna, stating that lots had to be done in sectors like drinking water, education, road, health, industry, employment and agriculture, said that all possible efforts were being put by the State Government. He underlined that the Plan outlay of State at the time of its inception was Rs. 700 crore which has swelled to Rs. 8200 crore now. Mr. Bahuguna said that separate fund of Rs. 50 crore has been made for development of backward areas.
Chief Minister said that women and youth had played instrumental role in the formation of the State. The Government would resolve their problems on priority. He asserted that all the promises made by the State Government would be fulfilled. Funds for setting up of engineering colleges, Polytechnics and ITIs had already been arranged.
Describing decision of laying Railway lines from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag a historic one, Mr. Bahuguna said that Defence Ministry would provide Rs. 4800 crore for its DPR. He said that the State was heading towards development for which it was awarded by the President of India recently. Mr. Bahuguna also welcomed suggestions from the people for the development of the State. He said that all necessary arrangements had been made for the success of Nandadevi Raj Jat Yatra scheduled to take place this year. It would be an endeavor to give it an international outlook.
Mr. Bahuguna calling on the agitating workers to end their stir in public interest urged them to support the Government in the development of the State. He said that decision would be taken in the interest of government workers.
The Chief Minister also released Annual Calendar of Agriculture on the occasion.
 MP Satpal Maharaj, MP Pradeep Tamta, Opposition Leader Ajay Bhatt, cabinet ministers Dr. Harak Singh Rawat and Yashpal Arya also expressed their views. The program was conducted by Deputy Assembly Speaker Dr. Anusuiya Prasad Maikhuri.
Also present on the occasion were cabinet ministers Surendra Singh Negi, Amrita Rawat, Pritam Singh, Surendra Singh Negi, Harish Durgapal, Mantri Prasad Naithani, Dinesh Agarwal, Preetam Singh Panwar, Vice Chariman 20-point Program Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Chairman GMVN Dinesh Dhanai, Chairman Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Ganesh Godiyal, MLAs Manoj Tiwari, Dr. Jeetram, Lalit Farshwan, Karan Mehra, Shailarani Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain, Secretary to Chief Minister Bhaskaranand, Additional Secretary to CM and DG Information Dilip Jawalkar and other dignitaries.
Earlier, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna also paid tribute to Vir Chandra Singh Garhwali by garlanding his statue.
