Drunk man opens fire at Delhi lawmaker's office, arrested

New Delhi, March 19 (IANS) A 45-year-old drunk man was arrested for firing in the air at the office of a Congress legislator here Tuesday morning, said police.
The firing was reported around 11.20 a.m. from west Delhi's Pitampura area. The man who opened fire was identified as Ravinder Yadav.
"Yadav arrived at the office of Tri Nagar MLA (member of legislative assembly) Anil Bhardwaj and started using filthy language. As some Congress workers there told him not to use such words, he came out of the office and started firing in the air from a pistol," said a police officer.
No one was injured, the officer said.
"The accused, who was found drunk at the time of incident, has been arrested. He is being interrogated,” added the officer.
Bhardwaj told IANS the accused was a not a party member and not  known to him.
"Congress party workers gather at my officer every Tuesday and Saturday. The accused entered the office and started using derogatory words. Party workers tried to stop him, but he continued using these words. He came out the office and fired six rounds in the air,” he said.
